Police are searching for a man they say robbed a woman at gunpoint in North New Hyde Park.

Police say just after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, the 52-year-old woman was walking on Denton Avenue near Hillside Avenue.

Police say a man got out of his car and approached her. That is when the man pointed a gun at the victim and grabbed her purse off her shoulder, according to police. 

Police say the man got back into his car, a red Toyota Camry, and took off with her purse with her iPhone and cash inside.

The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, with a medium complexion and wearing a white colored hooded sweatshirt.
