Police: Man wanted for stealing woman’s purse in Melrose
News 12 was told a 52-year-old woman was walking on the corner of Wales Avenue and East 149th Street when a man approached her from behind, pulled out a gun and grabbed her purse.

News 12 was told a 52-year-old woman was walking on the corner of Wales Avenue and East 149th Street when a man approached her from behind, pulled out a gun and grabbed her purse.
The incident happened on Monday, Dec. 12 around 7 p.m.
Police say the victim was not physically injured.
The suspect managed to get away with her purse that contained a cellphone, $70 in cash, bank cards and her personal ID.
The suspect was last seen on the corner of Tinton Avenue and East 151st Street wearing a blue hoodie, blue winter jacket, black pants and blue boots.
