The mother of a 4-year-old girl who was found alone on a Bronx street is now facing charges.
Police say Sadeekah Abdul Salaam, 32, has been charged with abandonment of a child, acting in a manner injurious to a child and reckless endangerment.
Police say around 12 a.m. Saturday they found the child about four blocks away from where surveillance video was captured.
They say the girl said her name is Sidayah, and she was then taken to Lincoln Medical Center for evaluation.
The 4-year-old was then taken to the Administration for Child Services in good health.
A spokesperson to the Administration for Child Service tells News 12: “The safety and well-being of New York City’s children is our top priority. We are investigating this incident with the NYPD.”
