Police: MTA cleaner arrested for slashing man at Atlantic Avenue station

Police say a man was slashed at the Atlantic Avenue Station early this morning.

The incident happened on the southbound platform around 1:45 a.m.

According to police, an on-duty MTA worker was cleaning the southbound platform with a cleaning solution.

The solution got on a 47-year-old man who was asleep on a bench, police say.

A dispute ensued and the MTA cleaner pulled out a knife and slashed the man, leaving him with a laceration to the left eye.

The man is in stable condition and the MTA cleaner was arrested.
