Police say an off-duty officer is facing charges in the shooting of two women Thursday. One of those women was killed.
The shooting took place at 5 p.m. Thursday. Police say they responded to a 911 call that two women had been shot inside 7901 19th Ave. in Brooklyn.
The off-duty officer, who sources have identified as 31-year-old Yvonne Wu, remains in police custody at the hospital with charges pending against her. Police records show she worked at the 72nd Precinct in Sunset Park and had more than five years on the job.
Police say the off-duty officer admitted to shooting two women in what police are calling a domestic dispute.
Investigators say the off-duty officer went into the Bensonhurst home where a woman described by sources as her ex-girlfriend lived and waited. When her 23-year-old ex arrived with another woman, the off-duty officer allegedly shot them both - leaving her ex in serious but stable condition and killing the other woman.
The woman killed has been identified by police as 24-year-old Jamie Liang. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The NYPD says the off-duty officer was calm and collected when officers arrived to the scene and apparently confessed. News 12 was told police recovered a gun as well.
