Police say an armed man who shot at uniformed police officers on Southern Boulevard Saturday morning was killed when cops returned fire.

Investigators say four uniformed officers confronted the 31-year-old suspect who was carrying a semi-automatic handgun.

When the officers ordered the suspect to drop the weapon, the man allegedly turned around and opened fire on them. The officers fired back, fatally shooting him in the chest. None of the officers were wounded.
