Police: Man fatally shot in car outside event space in East Williamsburg

Police say the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. today in front of 200 Morgan Ave. when the suspect walked up to a Ford Mustang and demanded money from the people inside.

A man was fatally shot while sitting in a car in East Williamsburg, police say.
Police say the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. today in front of 200 Morgan Ave. when the suspect walked up to a Ford Mustang and demanded money from the people inside.
When they allegedly refused, police say he shot the man in the passenger seat and pistol whipped the driver.
The suspect then allegedly stole chains off of both men.
Police say the driver of the Ford Mustang drove to NYC Heath + Hospitals Woodhull to get the victim help. The shooting victim was pronounced dead following his arrival there.
Police say the suspect also went up to a security guard who was standing outside of the event space and stole money and his keys to a Dodge Magnum before running off.
The address of the shooting is an event space, but police say it’s not clear if what happened has any connection to the location.
Police tell News 12 the shooter was on foot and was wearing dark-colored clothing.
