Police tell News 12 they got a ShotSpotter activation alert in the area of 1690 Ralph Ave., as well as a 911 call that someone was being assaulted in front of that address.

The shooting happened on Feb. 11 around 6 p.m., where 22-year-old Dontae McKenzie, from Queens, was shot in the chest. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
