Police release images of man wanted in Flatlands sexual assault

Investigators say an 18-year-old woman was inside a building when she was sexually assaulted by a man she did not know.

Police are asking for help finding a man wanted in connection with a sexual assault in Flatlands.

The incident happened around 5 a.m. on April 16 near East 56th Street and Mill Lane, according to investigators.

Investigators tell us an 18-year-old woman was inside a building when she was sexually assaulted by a man she did not know. She was able to get away and later went to a hospital for treatment.

Police have released surveillance images of the person they are trying to identify. In one image, he is seen inside a store wearing a black hat. In another, he is walking across a parking lot.

Investigators hope someone will recognize him.

So far, no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Sex Crimes Hotline or Crime Stoppers.
