Police are asking for the public’s help after a robbery at a smoke shop in Cypress Hills.

Investigators say the crime happened late at night on Feb. 10 inside a shop at 2945 Fulton St.

According to police, a man walked into the store around 11:35 p.m. and pulled out a gun.

Police say the man demanded money from the cash register. A 25-year-old worker handed over the cash, and the man ran out of the store.

Investigators say the man then ran into the Fulton Avenue–Cleveland Street subway station at the end of the block.

The worker was not hurt, police said. Authorities have not said how much money was taken.

News 12 spoke with a worker inside the shop Tuesday morning. He confirmed he was the employee who handed over the cash during the robbery. The worker said the store has since installed a buzz-in door and bulletproof glass for added security.

Police have released photos of the person they are trying to find. In the images, the individual is seen wearing a white-and-black hooded jacket, a black face mask, black gloves and black sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS. Police say all tips are confidential.
