2ds agoPort Washington police have released photos of a man they believe may be involved in an antisemitic graffiti incident at a Port Washington school.
Two swastikas were found spray-painted on the outside of John Philip Sousa Elementary School on Sunday.
School officials were able to have the images removed before kids arrived at school Monday.
Nassau County Executive Laura Curran issued a statement saying, "This brazen act of vandalism is not an isolated incident, and we take it very seriously. We must never allow hateful acts, whether they come in the form of graffiti or violence, to find comfort in our communities. We will respond by standing together to condemn anti-Semitism, and other forms of hatred that seek to divide us and turn us against each other. I also urge parents to educate youth about the value of diversity and tolerance, as well as the dark history behind symbols of hatred."
