Police released new surveillance video and a sketch of the suspect in a rape of a 19-year-old woman in Canarsie earlier this week.
The new video shows the suspect walking away from the crime scene, police say.
The suspect, a black man in his 20s, was wearing blue Hawaiian shorts, a white tank top and a white T-shirt wrapped around his face to mask his identity.
They say he raped a 19-year-old woman at gunpoint Sunday in an alley off of Rockaway Parkway.
Police also confirmed that other surveillance video recorded by a store near the crime scene appeared to show the same suspect before the crime.
Detectives say they were hopeful they had the person of interest in custody Tuesday, but that person was released when the victim did not identify him as the assailant.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
