Police are searching for the driver who hit and killed an elderly woman in Borough Park as she was returning home from a Seder on Monday.
Investigators say a car barreled into 73-year-old Reyzya Burman and her husband as they crossed 9th Avenue to their retirement home. Burman was pronounced dead at the hospital. Her husband suffered a broken leg and head injuries. The two had just been dropped off from a Seder.
Police say the absence of skid marks leads them to believe the driver may have been drunk and never hit the brakes. The victim's scarf and a bag filled with leftover Passover food littered the road.
Authorities are looking for a four-door gold car with damage to the passenger side. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
