Police search for suspect behind Q train assault
The NYPD is searching for a suspect that attacked a 41-year-old woman on a northbound Q line subway on Tuesday morning.
Police say the victim boarded the train and sat down to speak on her phone. The victim told authorities that the suspect punched her in the face several times unprovoked. She says the last thing that the suspect said was "I hate Mexicans.”
The victim suffered bruising to her forehead and a laceration to her lip, according to police.
New York Attorney General Letitia James took to Twitter to address the incident.
Police ask anyone with further information on the suspect to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
