Police are searching for a suspect in connection to an attempted kidnapping of a 13-year-old girl near 2363 Pitkin Ave. 

Police say the incident happened around 2:20 p.m. Sunday.

They say the 13-year-old girl was walking westbound on Pitkin Avenue when a dark-colored SUV began following her. 

They say the vehicle and unknown individual exited and approached the girl and attempted to grab a laundry cart that the girl was pushing. 

Police say the suspect tried to persuade the 13-year-old to come with him several times, but the victim refused and was able to flee to safety. 

Police say the suspect returned to his vehicle and fled westbound on Pitkin Avenue. 

No injuries were reported. Anyone with information is asked to contact the authorities.
