Police are asking for the public’s help identifying three people connected to a pair of knife-point robberies that happened minutes apart in south Brooklyn. Investigators say the incidents happened Wednesday afternoon, March 11, in the Gravesend and Sheepshead Bay neighborhoods. The first robbery happened around 4:25 p.m. at a spa located above a deli at 354 Kings Highway in Gravesend. Authorities say three individuals went inside the business and displayed a knife before kicking in a door. Investigators say the group took about $500 before running off. During the incident, a 47-year-old female employee said she injured her ankle while trying to get away, but she refused medical attention at the scene, according to police. About 15 minutes later, another spa was targeted — this time about 1.6 miles away in Sheepshead Bay. Police say the same three individuals entered a spa located at 2115 East 15th St. around 4:40 p.m. Authorities say a door and wall inside the business were kicked and damaged before the group took about $200 and fled. No one was injured in that incident. Police released surveillance images from the first robbery showing the three individuals on a sidewalk. All three appear to be wearing hooded sweatshirts, and one can be seen on a cellphone. Investigators are asking anyone who recognizes the people in the images to contact NYPD Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
