Police are searching for two men they believe are responsible for 10 recent robberies and one attempted robbery in the borough.
Police say the robberies all took place at popular locations that many people visit every day. The robbery spree has included drug stores, restaurants and other locations.
Sunday?s robbery took place at a Dunkin? Donuts located at Rockaway Parkway and Skidmore Avenue. The store?s manager said that two men entered the store in the middle of the day and threatened the staff with a gun. The men demanded money, and calmly walked out once the money was handed over.
Customers were in the store for the duration of the robbery.
?I always had this feeling that these Dunkin? Donuts [stores] were going to get ripped off one day,? Morningstar Henderson, a Dunkin? Donuts customer, said. ?They need partitions.?
Other customers say more police should be patrolling the area. They say the recent robberies won?t stop them from going to places like drug stores and Dunkin? Donuts locations. However, they say when they go, they will be more observant.
Police are asking anyone with any information on the robberies or suspects to call New York City Crimestoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
