Police shut down illegal party at Bronx establishment
Police shut down an illegal party at an unnamed establishment overnight in the Bronx.
Deputy sheriffs initiated surveillance at 170 W. 233rd St. after receiving information from social media.
Police say they observed loud music, lighting consistent with a party and more than 90 patrons entering the location.
At around 3 a.m. the deputies say they entered the club and observed 125 patrons dancing, consuming alcoholic beverages and smoking hookah pipes without facial coverings and without proper social distancing.
The unnamed establishment did not have a liquor license or a special permit from the Liquor Authority.
The establishment was cleared and shut down.
