A man is being accused of attacking a teen in Bellmore, Nassau County police say.
Authorities say the incident happened in the parking lot of Newbridge Road Elementary School Sunday afternoon.
Police say the 13-year-old was riding his bike when he was approached by the suspect who was also riding a bicycle.
He then slammed into the victim, causing the teen to fall off and hit the ground.
That's when the suspect struck the teen multiple times in the face and body with the bicycle.
The 13-year-old boy had swelling and bruising to his right eye, as well as lacerations to his stomach and legs.
The suspect took off on Newbridge Road.
The incident is concerning for parents who live nearby.
"In general, I'm worried just with everything going on, because you send your kids to school and it's a safe place, and lately things are popping up so it's very concerning," said Suzanne Fanelli, of Massapequa.
He is described as 6 feet tall, in his 30s, with dark hair and a beard and was last seen wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt and backpack.
Anyone with information is asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
