Police are on the hunt for a thief they say is targeting banks in Bed-Stuy.
Police tell News 12 the suspect got away with about $300 at a bank on Fulton Avenue Sunday around 2:30 p.m., but when he tried his method out again Monday he was unsuccessful.
Officials are searching for the man believed to be between 25 and 35 years old. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the words "My God vs. My Enemies" written on the front.
On Sunday police say he walked into the TD Bank on the corner of Fulton and Marcy avenues, walked up to the cashiers’ window and passed them a note that said "don’t make this hard, I just want $300. I want to get out of here."
Investigators say the cashier gave him some cash, although it's unclear exactly how much, and the suspect walked out.
Police say he tried to do the same thing Monday at Santander Bank a block away, handing the teller a note. However, this time when the cashier walked away from the counter police say he took off.
Police tell News 12 a weapon was not shown during either incident. No one was hurt.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
