Police are asking for the public's help to catch the man who raped a woman in Canarsie.
Authorities say a 20-year-old woman was walking near E. 92nd Street and Flatlands Avenue in the early morning hours Saturday when she accepted a ride from a man. The victim said the man raped her after she refused his demands for sex.
Police say the suspect was driving a silver or gray four-door sedan with law enforcement decals, and he posed as a police officer. Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
