Police sources tell News 12 the fire that killed a 36-year-old woman and her 17-year-old daughter in East New York
earlier this week was started by vape cartridges.
According to police, the girl's father was using an accelerant homemade vape dispenser before the Fountain Avenue home went up in flames.
Police say two other children listed in critical condition, a 14-year-old girl and a 10-year-old girl, were pronounced dead Thursday.
A 9-year-old boy is still in critical condition and a man and a firefighter were also injured.
The fire is still under investigation to determine if any criminality is suspected.
