The pursuit began in the Park Slope-Gowanus area, where police say the vehicle in question was observed driving at a high rate of speed.
The car's journey ended in the 76th Precinct, where it hit at least five parked cars in Cobble Hill. Police say two people inside jumped out and fled on foot, but they quickly corralled the passenger.
Oscar Pagan, 58, has been charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
Authorities say they know who they are looking for in terms of the suspect they did not catch.
No one was hurt in the pursuit.
