State police announced that an Orange County man has been indicted for a crash that killed three people.
Troopers say 24-year-old Anthony Jones, from Walden, was arraigned Tuesday and will be in Orange County jail in lieu of a $25,000 cash bond.
State police arrested him Monday.
They say he was reckless and negligent early last month when he was driving on Route 17 in the town of Wallkill between exits 118 and 119.
Troopers say he crashed into a minivan carrying 36-year-old Maria Abrigo Morocho, 30-year-old Jorge Eduardo Paqui Gualan, and 48-year-old Nelson Ivan Vivar Campoverde. All three were from Middletown and all were killed in the crash.
Four other people in the car had serious injuries and were taken to the hospital.
Jones was also taken to the hospital for complaints of pain.
He faces 14 counts, including charges for manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide.
