An armed standoff on Bridgeport's East Side is believed to be a domestic violence incident that got out of hand.
Just after 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Bridgeport police received a report of an active shooter in the 600th block on William Street.
A Bridgeport police SWAT team heard what sounded like a gunshot and moved inside.
A neighbor, who gave News 12 Connecticut security camera video, says he heard something too.
"I think that I hear one gunshot so immediately we called 911. In less than two minutes police responded," said the neighbor, who did not want to be identified.
A short time later a woman came out in police custody. Neighbors say the woman was arguing with a man she knew, allegedly upset that he cheated on her.
Neighbors heard a shot fired by the woman who then barricaded herself in a residence. Police say the man fled.
The woman was later taken away by ambulance.
Police say no one was hurt and don't believe anyone else was in danger. They are still investigating.
Police have not identified either party and have not said whether they are looking for the man involved.
