Police say a woman was fatally stabbed in Sunset Park.

It happened around 10 p.m. Monday. Police say they received a 911 call that someone was being assaulted with a knife in front of 835 46th St.

When officers arrived, they found the victim lying on the ground in front of the building with multiple stab wounds to her body.

They say she was unresponsive and unconscious.

She was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The victim has not yet been identified, but police tell News 12 they believe she was in her 40s.
