Port Authority says the bomb squad cleared an unattended bag at John F. Kennedy International Airport that prompted them to move passengers outside.
The airport said on Twitter around 11:30 a.m. that Port Authority police were investigating a "security incident" in Terminal 4.
Port Authority says when an unattended bag was found in the terminal, so passengers were relocated from the departures level to the arrivals level. The area was also closed off to traffic.
Port Authority says, “The bomb squad cleared the bag after determining there was no device. And terminal operations returned to normal, and roads were reopened.”
After 12 p.m., the airport said the incident was cleared and all roadways have reopened. It says to expect residual delays in the area.
