An artist known for his portrait of Gov. Andrew Cuomo is now bringing his talent to Crown Heights.
Rusty Zimmerman says he is like the mayor of his neighborhood because he knows so many people. He says he wants others to know their neighbors too, so he has started a new project.
Zimmerman plans to paint 200 portraits of people from all sorts of backgrounds over the course of a year. He says he wants to capture the many faces of Crown Heights.
Zimmerman plans to have small exhibits throughout the year as new batches of paintings are completed. He wants to host a large party at the end of the year to show off all of his paintings.
