Con Edison says the outages are a result of snow and road salt mixing and damaging equipment. It says crews have been working throughout the night to return service to their customers. Con Edison’s website says power was turned off to allow repairs to continue and to avoid any further damage.
A warming center has been made available to those without power at Evergreen Middle School for Urban Exploration on 125 Covert Street.
As of 10:30 a.m., the Con Edison map showed 1,293 customers in Bushwick are still without power. It’s expected to be restored around 3 p.m.
