Power restored to Warbasse houses after long outage
Nearly 7,000 Coney Island residents were without power today due to the blistering temperatures, which landed at least two people in the hospital. The outages began at the Warbasse housing complex at around 9:30 a.m., but ended by 2 p.m. Fire officials rescued a tenant trapped in an elevator for an hour. The building's management company says it is investigating the outage, which also affected local businesses.
