President Joe Biden says he is hopeful things could be back to normal by Christmas of this year.
"The grace of God and the goodwill of the neighbors that by next Christmas, I think we'll be in a very different circumstance, God willing, than we are today," he said.
Remaining cautious, Biden says he does not want to "over promise anything."
At a town hall-style meeting Tuesday night in Wisconsin, Biden said the ability to spread the coronavirus will diminish considerably due to herd immunity.
He also said by the end of July there will be enough available vaccine doses so that every American who wants a shot can get one.
