President Biden signs executive order calling for reversal of travel ban from 7 Muslim countries

On President Joe Biden's first day in office, he signed an executive order calling for the reversal of the travel and immigration ban from seven Muslim countries.
The Trump administration introduced what is commonly referred to as the Muslim ban back in 2017, with additional changes and additions through 2020. It banned travel from countries that had Muslim-majority populations to the U.S.
The Legal Aid Society tells News 12 that the ban kept families apart and served no national interest.
The imam at the Bronx Muslim Center, Dr. Hamud Al-Silwi, says the ban hurt many families in the community and worldwide.
He's hoping that Biden's executive order to reverse the travel ban represents a new era.
