President Joe Biden is expected to make a major announcement to address inflation today as gas prices are rising toward record highs once again.
The inflation is impacting everything from staples you buy at the supermarket to gas prices.
At this hour, the national gas price is $4.37.
In New York state, the average gas price is $4.56.
In the city, the average gas price in Brooklyn is $4.64 while the gas average in the Bronx is $4.63.
The ongoing war in Ukraine has sent gas prices surging due to disruptions in the oil supply chain. The Biden administration released a record amount of oil from emergency stockpiles, which helped a bit, but prices are creeping back up again.
As Biden prepares to give those remarks later today, he says a top priority is getting prices under control and lower costs for working families.
