The New York organization Operation Fairy Dust paired up with Senator Kevin Parker (D-Brooklyn) to help Brooklyn girls find the perfect prom dress. Hundreds of dresses were brought to Tilden High School offering prom dress shoppers a variety of choices and a unique shopping experience. A representative from the high school said participating in the program was the least they could do for Brooklyn students because pprom dresses can be expensive. Parker explained why it was important to him to be part of the program, saying ?Prom dresses can be very expensive?it?s a big expense for a lot of these young girls? families. So we wanted to see if we could be helpful with that.? All dresses in the Operation Fairy Dust program were donated and a staff of volunteers helped to make the event possible.
