A special five-course meal was served Tuesday at a homeless shelter in Brooklyn.
The meal was the culmination of an eight-week culinary course in which chefs learned everything from baking to knife skills. It's sponsored by the Doe Fund, which helps the homeless transition to a new life.
The program is the second of its kind at the Bedford-Stuyvesant shelter.
Five graduates from the first class got jobs in restaurant kitchens.
The chefs in training served dinner at the shelter twice a week to prepare for Tuesday. The special meal included oysters, crab and panna cotta.
