The battle between bike riders and city buildings is reaching a critical point thanks to Brooklyn Councilman David Yassky.
Yassky has proposed the 'Bikes in Buildings Bill,' which would allow bicycles inside every commercial building in the city. The bill already has the support of more than 30 council members.
"I think any building owner should be proud that it's in their building," said Yassky. "Biking to work should be a badge of honor."
The Department of City Planning has blamed the lack of secure indoor bike parking for deterring would-be bike commuters.
