Gov. Andrew Cuomo is continuing his fight to protect transgender New Yorkers from discrimination.
Gov. Cuomo introduced regulations Thursday that will prohibit discrimination against transgender people looking for jobs, loans, and public housing.
The proposed legislation is the first in the nation to include transgender people in a human rights protection law.
Gov. Cuomo says protecting the rights of transgender people is necessary because they are one of the most abused and harassed groups in society today.
