Prosecutor: Driver was traveling more than double the speed limit in deadly Lakewood crash

A Toms River man was traveling more than double the speed limit just before a deadly crash in Lakewood, according to authorities.

A Toms River man was traveling more than double the speed limit just before a deadly crash in Lakewood, according to authorities.
They say Alejandro Huerta-Arias, 23, crashed into a car driven by Mark Mandel, 32.
The crash happened March 9 around 8:15 a.m. near the intersection of Madison Avenue and Courtney Road.
Police say Mandel was trying to make a left when Huerta-Arias hit him. Mandel's car then flew into a traffic light. He died on impact.
Authorities say Huerta-Arias was traveling at 91 mph – more than double the 40 mph speed limit in the area.
He has been charged with vehicular homicide.
