Prosecutors: Unauthorized NAD+ IV infusion led to woman's death in the Bronx

A Bronx man is facing multiple criminal charges after prosecutors say he unlawfully administered an NAD+ IV infusion to a woman who later died.
According to the criminal complaint, 55-year-old Luis Rojas Cabrera gave 27-year-old Elizabeth Baron the IV treatment at a Riverdale holistic wellness center. Prosecutors allege Cabrera later told police, "I gave her a NAD+ IV. She went unconscious immediately. I called 911."

The complaint also says he told investigators he was not licensed to practice medicine in New York but said he was a doctor in the Dominican Republic and held a physician assistant license in Puerto Rico.
Prosecutors say he was not legally authorized to administer the treatment. Baron was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
Cabrera is charged with second-degree manslaughter, reckless endangerment and unauthorized practice of a profession.
