Students, parents and teachers took to the streets yesterday to fight school budget cuts in South Brooklyn.
Nearly 75 protesters gathered outside the Coney Island train station to march up Stillwell Avenue before making their way down Ocean Parkway to Abraham Lincoln High School.
Organizers say that the Department of Education (DOE) has already cut enough programs and is hurting students.
A DOE spokesperson says that all schools in each borough have experienced budget cuts this year, but that Mayor Michael Bloomberg's commitment to education remains the same.
