An elementary school science teacher in Flatbush has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing students.
According to police, Omil Carrasquillo molested at least five female students at the Caton School, P.S. 249, on Marlborough Road. The alleged victims are between 10 and 11 years old.
They say the abuse happened on school property, starting late last year and lasting until this past Friday.
On what appears to be his LinkedIn page, Carrasquillo is said to have been a coach in the Bronx Special Olympics for the last 12 years, and served in the National Guard and as a sergeant in the U.S. Army.
The city's Department of Education released a statement saying in part, "These allegations are disturbing and we removed Mr. Carrasquillo immediately: he is not near any students."
