News 12's Alexa Farrell is out on Pump Patrol taking a look at the rising gas prices across the Bronx.
The average prices currently around the city according to AAA are $4.39 in Manhattan, $4.38 in the Bronx and $4.36 in Brooklyn.
One reason for the rise in price is the war in Ukraine right now, especially as sanctions are proposed on Russian oil.
AAA says that in 2018, they surveyed drivers on what would be their so-called "pain point" prices they would really be feeling as they filled up. About 40% said $3.
AAA also says there won't any relief in sight soon as summer blends of gas are going to be produced soon. Those blends consist of a more complicated method of refining and typically cost more.
