It's been four years since Forest City Ratner and his Atlantic Yards project came to light, and state officials are asking why nothing has been done to get the ball rolling.
Construction workers protested outside a state Senate hearing about the project Friday. The workers, along with state leaders, want to know why development is taking so long to get started. State officials say some of the key players in the project blame the delay on lawsuits and financial changes.
Developer Forest City Ratner says it may still deliver, but on a smaller scale. Any changes or new plans are expected to be revealed by the end of June.
The $4 billion project is expected to bring the New Jersey Nets to Brooklyn, along with a shopping plaza and affordable housing.
