Council members have introduced a Rat Action Plan aimed at taking steps to mitigate the citywide rodent infestation.
City officials say they are taking measures to lower NYC’s two million rat population that include mitigation zones and reporting, rodent-proof bins, pre-construction mitigation plans, and graduated sanitation violations.
"The Rat Action Plan targets the sanitation crisis that has allowed rats to run rampant in our city," says Council Member Shaun Abreu.
