Bronx residents on East 164th Street are making a plea for help dealing with a rat infestation on their block.
According to neighbors, the rats, which some describe as the size of cats, are coming from a vacant lot. They say they can't even walk down the sidewalk at night without being bombarded by rodents.
Residents have tried poison and traps to solve the problem, but complain that nothing has worked. Many contacted the city's Department of Health, but their inspectors say the problem is coming from the homes and not the vacant lot.
