Sunday marked the anniversary of the Battle of Brooklyn, the largest battle of the American Revolutionary War.
To commemorate the day, people gathered in Green-Wood Cemetery, where American and British soldiers once clashed 237 years ago.
Visitors saw history come to life with re-enactments by the American Veterans of Living History. They told the story of the role of African-Americans in the Revolutionary War.
On display for the first time was a map from British Gen. Hugh Percy. Historians say the map was used as Percy led a division against George Washington's troops.
