New Yorkers love a great meal, and everyone loves a good deal.
Caleb Silver, editor in chief at Investopedia, says, "Even though food away from home, that is spending out at restaurants, is up about 4% year over year and we have seen that rise year after year, we have had a pretty good recovery in restaurant reservations when you look at the tri-state area. In New Jersey, it is only down 1% from last year, a little bit softer, down 1% in New York as well and in Connecticut pretty flat. Nationwide, it is up about 3%, so we have seen a bigger surge in people going out to eat across the country."
And of course, dinning out means dishing out your dough.
News 12's Kristie Reeter found downloading restaurant apps can help you tap into free food.
At one fast food chain, by downloading the app she got a free fry, any size, with a dollar purchase. So, for $3.26 she was able to get a chicken sandwich and a large fry.
