A boy who was struck by a car and injured after a woman plowed her vehicle into a Stamford playground, met with police officers for pizza.
The Westside Patrol Squad B officers met with the 11-year-old Stamford boy, who was struck by a car while on a swing in Lione Park Sunday.
The officers say they were so proud of the boy's courage and bravery during the ordeal that they wanted to meet him and eat pizza with him from Westover Pizza.
"Our young friend is recovering well and is expected to make a full recovery," police wrote on their Facebook page.
A 54-year-old woman is facing several charges after driving onto the playground. Police say Mikel Lyneel plowed through a fence near the Stamford Boys & Girls Club. She is charged with reckless endangerment, driving without insurance, and driving an unregistered motor vehicle.
