Some Red Hook residents say Brooklyn is the perfect place for a little farm life. Members of the Walsh family say there are advantages to having a chicken coop in their backyard. They say farm fresh eggs, produced by their 28 chickens, are of higher quality then ones sold in stores. While it is legal to house hens in Brooklyn, male roosters are prohibited because of noise pollution and the potential for cock fighting.
