A new supermarket in Red Hook has some residents worried about increased traffic congestion. Monday, Brooklyn officials welcomed the new Fairway grocery store to Red Hook. They are calling it the renaissance of Red Hook, but locals say traffic is growing worse. Mayor Bloomberg says poor infrastructure continues to be a challenge all over Brooklyn. Residents want more traffic lights on Van Brunt Street, where the grocery store is located. Some residents are also suggesting that traffic be redirected to avoid disturbing the people. They say they will continue to keep an eye on the situation to make sure congestion does not become a major problem.
